Milan that changes: construction sites change the skyline of the city

Milan has always been the largest creative capital of fashion and unbridled luxury, a point of reference for many stylists and fashionistas from all over Europe and the world, where the classic Fashion Week has been taking place for years, as per tradition, which attracts always the true pillars of Italian fashion and beyond.

But Milan is not only this. Milan is technology, pure avant-garde, movement, innovation, lots of tourism, skyscrapers and much more. Milan is a functional city, to be experienced at 360 degrees.

But like any respectable big city, it needs constant changes, ever more recent innovations, capable of being always in step with the new modern times, and continuous maintenance that always leads it to the best.

For this reason it is precisely defined the "Milan that changes", because it is constantly evolving and, like the real Milanese people, it never stops.

Now let's see what are the construction sites that will be born in Milan, how it has changed recently and how the city skyline will change in the coming years.

The latest news that changed Milan in recent 2018

2018 was a year of changes for Milan. These were the major and numerous accomplishments and those that have started and are therefore the next to finish:

Opening of a large Starbucks, a well-known American chain, in Piazza Cordusio, which has attracted many tourists since 2018, being the first point of the chain to open throughout Italy.

· Opening of the new Apple Store, with the redevelopment of the magnificent Liberty square, embellished with a large fountain.

· Conclusion of the restoration of the Torre Galfa, thanks to an investment of around 100 million euros.

· Construction and conclusion of the library of trees, which will bring the finalization of the Gae Aulenti area.

· Extension of the already long Line 15 of the tram, which starts from Rozzano and reaches the Milan Cathedral.

· Redevelopment of the large Auchan in the suburbs, in Cinisello Balsamo.

Work begins on the large Bocconi Campus, which will include 3 buildings, which will be completed in 2019.

Linate Airport: the summer block and the reopening

Among the various major construction works involving Milan, there is the extraordinary closure of the large Linate airport for 3 months, still in progress, from 7 am on 27 July, until 27 October at 6 am morning, in which all the scheduled flights were sorted between the adjacent airports of Malpensa and Bergamo Orio al Serio.

This closure caused, as reported, a 4% increase in air traffic, since all the flights and stopovers that used to be at Linate airport have been rescheduled.

The major works are affecting the complete re-paving of the runways, the removal of abandoned and unused buildings, a redevelopment of the entire adjacent area and a modernization of the system that deals with the difficult sorting of luggage.

The reopening is therefore close, there are a couple of weeks left and it will be possible to check whether this closure - which began precisely in the summer when the flow of passengers is always significantly higher than at other times of the year - has served and has modernized the large airport Milanese in the best way, as expected and promised at the beginning of the works. Passengers who at the moment, but also in the future, will need to move between airports but also in the entire Milan hinterland, once landed, can also refer to portals of private taxi transfers such as https://efindcars.com/milan-airport-transfer-services, in addition to the many public means suitably reinforced to counter the emergency of these months.
